A Hidden Gem in Our Program
Summer is one of the youngest females in our kennel, the sister of Big Boy Smoke and daughter of two outstanding dogs:
Joseph Sotto Castello and Spirit Guardian of Dreams.
At first glance, Summer didn’t quite match the phenotype we usually look for in our breeding females. She didn’t immediately stand out in the way some pups do — but with time, she surprised us. A true late bloomer, she developed slowly but steadily into a much more refined and balanced dog than we initially expected.
Her evolution reminded us of something important: while phenotype is what we see, genotype is what truly builds a legacy. And in Summer’s case, we believe her genetic background holds a great deal of value. For that reason, we made the decision to keep her and evaluate her through the quality of her offspring.
She also carries a striking appearance — a beautifully clean formentino coat, elegant and eye-catching, that adds to her unique presence in the pack.
Summer may not have been the obvious choice at first, but she has more than earned her place here. She represents the potential that lies in patience, vision, and a deep belief in the blood we are working to preserve.
